Manistee Civic Players Present the Premier of - "A Would Be Lovers Guide to Channeling the Powers of the Universe". Playing on the Ramsdell Stage, Friday & Saturday, April 24 & 25 & May 1 & 2 at 7:30PM and Sunday, April 26 & May 3 at 2:00PM. Written by award winning local playwright, Maripat Allen, this romantic comedy is about a timid young woman, Cindy, who works as a cashier but dreams of being an English professor and a shy young accountant, John, who would rather be writing novels. When their alter egos, the sophisticated Cynthia and suave Ian meet, they plot to bring the two together by engaging the help of Cynthia's gallant fantasy boyfriend William, and Ian's sexy fantasy girlfriend Jasmine. Enter Andrea, a psychic New Age self-help guru, and the best laid plans spin out of control. Will Cindy and John ever meet each other? Will Ian and Cynthia find happiness? And what will become of Andrea?
